The Features of a Bold Leap Home
At Bold Leap, we believe that all young people should have a safe and secure place to call home. This is why all of our properties are welcoming, conveniently located, fully furnished and safe.
We strive for every Bold Leap property to feel like home. Our commitment to making every house safe, private, well-styled, and social ensures that all young people feel comfortable and supported at the beginning of their independent living journey.

Fully Furnished
Our Bold Leap properties are fully furnished with each young person’s room equipped with a bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, TV, and a desk with a chair. In the living area, you will find sofas, coffee tables, dining table and chairs, as well as a large TV. In the kitchen, our young people have access to all of the equipment they need including crockery, cutlery and utensils. Beyond the furniture, our homes are decorated to a high standard and kept clean and tidy. We want to create a safe and welcoming space where young people can interact, learn, and grow.
Safe
Once a month, we complete a safety checklist to ensure each property is well-maintained, fully functional, and exceeds safety requirements. This includes checking the fire extinguishers, fire blankets and smoke alarms. Annually, gas and electric safety certificates are renewed, and a fire risk assessment and a health and safety audit are completed at our share houses. Our share houses are staffed 24 hours a day. Additionally, they are fitted with enhanced CCTV operative system with built-in security technology that detects action, identifies danger, and helps our young people and staff to remain safe and secure.
Private
All young people have their own lockable bedroom and shared use of the kitchen and washing facilities.
Support
All young people receive a Welcome Pack with important information about their local area, how the house works, and how to access Bold Leap’s 24-hour on-call support. They have a say in how their house runs, the support they regularly access, and what they want to learn about independent living. They will also be matched with a suitable worker- they will have a say in this process too.
Accommodation Options
A home to suit every young person.
We have multiple accommodation options available because we recognise that every young person has different needs. Our team works with people from a range of backgrounds and situations, striving to help them find accommodation that suits their preferences, support requirements, and goals.
Shared Houses
Bold Leap uses a robust matching process to ensure young people can live safely and happily in a group. Support for each member in the house is determined by their individual needs, however, they receive at least five hours of support weekly. The young people in a share house are encouraged to engage in fun activities such as eating together, playing games and enjoying movie nights. All of our share houses are staffed 24 hours a day.
Emergency
Young people’s living situations can change on a daily basis, which is why we offer emergency accommodation support. If a placement has broken down or a young person is released from custody early, emergency housing can be arranged. Additionally, for young people who are at risk due to having gang involvement, are Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) or are at risk of Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE), emergency accommodation is available. Bold Leap seeks to work with the Local Authority to provide accommodation, whether this is in a shared, standalone or bespoke one-to-one accommodation with 24/7 support.
Standalone
Designed for young people who have previously lived in a share house or received bespoke 24/7 support, standalone placements involve a step-up to more independent living. The accommodation consists of a one-bedroom flat, and support is available for a minimum of one hour a week. While every young person is assessed and catered to on an individual basis, people in standalone accommodation will be supported to gradually transition to their own tenancy in an independent living environment.
