Life Skills

Life skills are something that many of us take for granted;

food shopping, budgeting, enrolling in education, accessing healthcare, and completing daily tasks are all aspects of adult independence that can be challenging for young people.

At Bold Leap, we know that vulnerable young people need guidance, support and flexibility during the critical development stage in their life that is emerging adulthood. We offer therapy, support, and support to teach essential life skills and allow young people to live independently with confidence.

The Life Skills We Aim to Teach at Bold Leap

It is Bold Leap’s priority that each young person can transition from semi-independent to independent living seamlessly. This is achieved by supporting and guiding the young person through all aspects of semi-independent living. We assist and promote the key aspects and skills required to enable young people to adapt to change.
Whether it be accessing education, planning out weekly meals, budgeting, finding accommodation, understanding the Job Seekers Allowance, providing advocacy or navigating another part of independence, Bold Leap’s team are ready to help.

Enriching Young Lives While Encouraging Independence

At Bold Leap, we nurture and encourage independence. Part of this involves introducing young people to a range of facilities and amenities in their local neighbourhood and local community. Not only does this promote social interaction and community involvement, but it also prompts young people to explore their interests and make valuable personal and professional connections.

Bold Leap utilises an Independent Living Toolkit to evidence the progress undertaken by the young person as they develop essential life skills.

At Bold Leap, we strive to teach valuable life skills to the young people we work with.
