Children’s Residential by Bold Leap

At Bold Leap, we provide exceptional care for children and young people with a wide range of needs in a diverse range of settings. Working closely with professionals and employing evidence-based therapeutic mode of carel, we offer more than just accommodation— we provide emotional support, access to education, health and wellbeing services, and more.

With our passion for what we do and the years of experience we have in doing it, we’re pleased to announce that Bold Leap will be opening a new children’s home in 2024 within the West Midlands. Each new home embodies our commitment to excellence, channelling years of knowledge into creating even more nurturing environments for our care’s children and young people.

We’re Changing the Narrative

As children and young people placed within residential homes are legally in the care of the local authority, this helps to solve the problem of these young people who cannot live at home.

This allows us to provide:

  • An end to repeated poor home conditions
  • A stop to neglect and poor parenting
  • Consistent care and supervision
  • Routines and boundaries
  • A safe and homely environment
  • Assurance that somebody will meet their basic needs
  • The best platform to transition from childhood to adulthood for those who need it most

What We Include

Accommodation

Bold Leap ensures children’s daily needs are met within a nurturing environment that is welcoming, supportive, and which provides appropriate boundaries in relation to their behaviour.

Important to recognise that many children in residential care have experienced environments where these needs have not been consistently met.

Emotional Support

Staff members provide therapeutic parenting approaches which are key in promoting emotional regulation. It also enables children in managing past experiences and fostering positive relationships. What we find is that emotionally regulated children are better equipped to handle challenging situations, form healthy relationships, and succeed academically. They are also more likely to have positive mental health outcomes.

Education

Access to education ensures vulnerable children and young people receive academic support and equal opportunities for learning and development.

Notably, we believe it is important to address and work through their past experiences and present needs which include severe trauma or out of education for significant periods. As such we support these children in line with their personal education plan or EHC plan and recommendations from education and health professionals.

Health and Wellbeing

We enable appropriate medical care, including regular check-ups and access to primary and secondary health services. As well as encourage children to take a proactive role in looking after their day to day health and well-being.

Life Skills Training

We assist children in developing essential life skills like cooking, personal self care, housework, money management, and decision-making for future independent living. This is in preparation for any moves from the home, whether they are returning home, moving to another placement or adult care, or to live independently.

Therapeutic Intervention

We provide therapeutic intervention for children who have experienced trauma. Equally, we have a clinical team who through consultation, collectively implement changes to current strategies in the child’s daily life.

The Bold Leap Approach

Meeting Individual Needs

Our individualised approach tailors our interactions with children and young people based on their needs, delivering focused and purposeful care.

Co-ordinating Activities

We coordinate home activities and ensure effective management, maintaining a safe and consistent care environment.

Best Care

We provide optimal care by organising activities aligned with each child’s needs and best interests, balancing learning, personal development, and recreational pursuits.

Household Tasks

We perform daily household tasks to uphold cleanliness and order in the residential home, including preparing nutritious meals for the children and young people in our care.

Supporting Children at All Times

Bold Leap strives to provide a safe and nurturing environment that a child may not have been able to access elsewhere.  We aim to do this by:

  • Creating a safe environment
  • Focusing on education attainment
  • Nurturing the development of independent living skills
  • Assisting in creating secure attachments and relationships with trusted adults
  • Developing strategies for addressing past trauma that may have contributed to a child’s need for our care

Ultimately, our goal is to transform childrens daily life and help them become the best versions of themselves. Along the way, we aim to ensure they have a sturdy platform for the Bold Leap from care to adulthood.

To ensure the safety of the children and young people in our care, we cannot reveal the specific locations of our homes. However, we can disclose that they are in the West Midlands.

Bold Leap homes can care for differing numbers of children depending on the home itself. Our homes have an entire staff team consisting of a responsible individual, a registered manager, a deputy manager, and residential support workers.
